Nintendo 64: Still Playable By JayZ on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

This thing came out when I was but a wee child, and like most children of the era, I wanted one more than food or water. I waited in line for hours for one of these Nintendo 64s, and all these years later I don't regret the boring, bathroom-deprived hours I spent in the local Toys R Us. Nintendo truely revolutionized gaming with this system. Mario 64 introduced a completely explorable world. A gamer could run around almost anywhere in virtual reality; no longer was one bound by sliding screens, second dimensional limitations, and forced paths. The Nintendo 64 ultimately presented gamers and game creaters with unprecidented freedom. Still, there were flaws. The system was not as powerful as it could of been; games often lagged or even crashed entirely. But these few instances were certainly counterbalanced by the great success of most of the 64s games.
