Reviewing: Nintendo D/S Lite
Purchased at: Walmart     Price: $149.99 CAD

Now here's a waste of money. I purchased one of these for my daughter last year for Christmas. The display screen was scratched within three weeks. She lost the pen to it the very first day she got it.Therefore she used her fingernail to operate it. Yes I know what your thinking. It was my daughters fault for losing the pen. Yes but, my point is that it is in my opinion stupid to make a toy this expensive that requires this small pen to operate it. Lets face it Nintendo d/s lite is usually seen played by ages 8-15 year olds. The age where children this age lose small parts like the Nintedo pen.i purchased this toy because I didn't realize that you needed the pen to operate it. I thought the pen was for the drawing part of this toy.

Surprised the pen is separate. I don't know much about these but agree its a little expensive for what you get. Thanks

Huh, my 8 year old loves his. Of course I agree that they should have considered the age and maturity of the kids who play this better. I knew my son would loose the stylus (since my husband looses his for his PDA)...so I bought an ext pair of them :0)

Donna beat me to saying that extra stylus pens can be purchased separately. The DS Lite has a nice little hideaway slot for the stylus storage... but to attach it would make it difficult to operate some of the features of the game. It sounds like the Nintendo Game Boy Advance would be more suitable for your daughter.

They should have some means to attach the pen to the Game set to prevent such frequent loss of pens. You do sound very frustrated with the lost pen, I feel sorry for you too since it is quite an expensive toy.

They really should make a place to attach the pen especially since this game isn't cheap.

There is a place to attach the pen. It clips in underneath the DS. My daughter has one and we just simply bought her a pack of extra stylus's (pens) to go with it. They are fairly cheap.

Good to hear another opinion of this. Perhaps if you have a child who is prone to losing small parts and being rough on things it's a good choice to wait till they are a little older before getting one of these.

You're better off getting the original DS if you're going to buy this system for a kid.
