Nintendo Ds Lite By Mean Queen By Mean_Queen on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
The Nintendo DS Lite is a great portable video game player. You can play with the game pad controller, the pen stylus, and a microphone. The DS has wireless capabilities so you can play with a friend or against them. Some games require the friend to also have the game cartridge but others will allow multiple players to play off of one cartridge. We got this for our 8 year old, but I seem to play it as much as she does and I'm much older than 8. The DS has two 3-inch screens. The bottom one is an interactive touch pad. You can use the stylus pen or even your finger to control the touch screen. The standard colors available are black, white, and pink. The graphics on the DS aren't as great as what you may see on bigger game systems. The DS uses DS cartridges to play games, but you can also use older cartridges from Game Boy Advanced. My biggest complaint about the DS is the game cartridges are so small and very easy for a kid to lose. Even with all the great accessories available, those tiny cartridges can get lost. The console costs around $130 and the games range from $20 - $40 a piece. This is a great game for the responsible child or adult in your life. But if you have a kid who loses things easily, this system can be costly.
