Nintendo Entertainment System By Doraemon on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

This system set the standard for the video game industry. It ushered in the golden age of videogames. It was also at the time the most advanced console on the planet. It is known as the Nintendo Entertainment System.

The system has the advantage of having a huge library consisting of hundreds of games encompassing every genre from adventure games like Megaman and Super Mario Bros, to shooting games like Duck Hunt and Hogan's Alley to sports games such as Golf and Baseball to puzzle games such as Fire and Ice and Tetris. Some of the most popular games were games such as Megaman, Super Mario Bros, Donkey Kong, PacMan, Tetris, Castlevania, Metroid, Punchout, Legend of Zelda and Final Fantasy. Aside from the huge selection of games, the graphics were quite advanced in those days.

While the NES many pale in comparison to the 3D graphics and realism of todays systems, it is up to now fun. It kept everything simple. Simple graphics, simple game concepts and simple control schemes. Sometimes less is more.
