Nintendo Wavebird By ExplosiveAmnesia on - Updated Sep 18, 2011

The Nintendo Wavebird is a first-party wireless controller for the Nintendo Gamecube. It is the first official wireless controller from any of the major console manufacturers.

The best feature of this controller is its remarkable battery life. The controller will last for months on end without needing fresh batteries. Unfortunately, in order to gain this battery life, Nintendo removed the vibration from the controller. However, it is not usually missed, and is a fair compromise.

The controller also possesses remarkable range and response time. There is no noticeable lag, and can be taken dozens of feet and still respond. The controller is fairly light, despite the batteries, which add a large compartment below the controller body. However, this does not affect the feel of the controller, and makes it a worthy primary controller for any Gamecube or Wii owner.
