Nintendo Wii By Amy Curtis By Amy Curtis on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
We purchased this system right after they were released and have really enjoyed playing it. The wireless, motion controllers are way easier to use than I thought they would be. Sometimes it takes a little getting used to with a certain game but once you figure out the controls it is almost second nature. It comes with a sports game to get you used to how the major movements work and it is actually a really good workout! The first time we played we were both sore the next morning. The game selection can be a tad limited but there are more coming out all the time. We have played several different types of games on this system and they are all similarly fun to play. Another plus is that you can play all of the old game cube games on it too so you can get rid of that system. One thing that makes this system a little hard is that the remote sensor has to be in just the right place or you movements aren't calibrated right. There is a calibration feature in the main menu but it sometimes gets off anyway. Also, it is fairly hard to travel with because there are so many pieces to it. Its doable but it takes awhile.

We LOVE our WII. We got ours at Target too. We passed by and saw it way back in September of last year and as hard as it was managed to hold it until Christmas. The ids were floored. I am only good at bowling myself but the kids play all day and get excercise to boot.
we love our Wii. We had it for about a year now. I agree some games are a little tricky in figuring out the remotes for them. My son has a racing game that is tricky to steer. They are starting to come out with a lot more Wii games too.
I've been reading about all the new systems out there but I just have not decided what to get yet. We have a SNES. The teen wants an upgrade. I'm leaning towards the Wii. I've seen some using it in action and it looks fun. Thanks for the information.
I have wanted to get this because you actually do get a work out when you are gaming! What a brilliant concept!
It is so nice for a game system to actually be interactive.
I have a Wii. It is a lot of fun. I still prefer DDR for the exercise though.
My sons are wanting one of these, and I think it is a good idea because you actually have to move to play it,LOL.
Buying our WII was one of the best things I ever bought for my family. We have spent way more quality time together since we've had it and gotten excercise too, I recommend it.
A friend of mine has one and is so great...never get bored!
I'm so glad you're enjoying your Wii!! It truly sounds like a fantastic workout!!
