Nintendo Wii By Explosive Amnesia By ExplosiveAmnesia on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

The Nintendo Wii is Nintendo's newest home console, which was released in November of 2006. It was the first console to use motion-sensing controllers as its primary method of control.

In my experience, this motion control is well-implemented, especially in the A games. I've found that even ports, like Resident Evil 4, function well with the motion control. The control in RE4 is an elegant upgrade from analog controld, and I've found the Metroid Prime 3 controls to be incredibly smooth and intuitive. Of course, everyone knows Wii Sports, which feels extremely natural and is a great initial showcase for those controls.

I've also had a lot of fun with the Virtual Console, which allows you to download classic games for 5-10 dollars. This digital distribution, combined with the aforementioned smoothly-controlling games, have made the Wii an excellent value for its $250 price tag.
