No Drinking Pool Water

Growing up in Hawaii we always drank water straight from the tap. The water falls from the heavens, down onto the ground & filtered through many layers of lava rock, sand & into underground wells. Then is tapped into by the Board of Water Supply & distributed to all the homes. The water there tastes crisp, clean & just pure as if it was made by angels. Well, since we had to relocate to the mainland the first thing everyone says after drinking the water here is that it tastes like pool water. Even our dogs didn't seem to like the water. We have such a hard time swallowing the water we had to find something to improve it, so we looked into water filtration systems. The most economical, convenient, & easy enough for the kids to work one we found was the PUR system. It's great all you have to do is turn the silver bulb thing vertically for when you want to drink & turn it horizontal for when you want to leave the tap on. Changing the filter is easy enough as well, just soak the filter for the amount of time it states on the package & then unscrew the bottom of the silver bulb thing, remove the old one & insert the new one. So simple. Also it has a red meter at the top to let you know when to change it. On the box it says that it removes 99.99% of Microbial cysts (stuff that causes diarrhea, vomiting, & cramps.) Definitely a good investment!

My ex-boyfriend had one of these at his house and the water tasted really good. My only complaint was it hung so low down from the faucet I could not get a pitcher all the way full!

We had the PUR for a good long while in our home. The inability to easily fill stockpots or pitchers caused us to go to bottled water.I make lots of homemade soups so this got to be a real pain.
