No More Spills Or Leaks. By godfrey884 on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

When it was time to start training my oldest daughter (now 3) to say bye bye to the bottle and start to drink from a cup, I had purchased many different brands of cups. With handles, without handles, with a valve, without a valve. It seemed like anything I bought for her she didn't care for. I kept insisting to my husband that I think she just doesn't like the hardness of the spouts of the sipping cups, and I told him I wish they made a training cup with the silicone spout similar to the nipples of the bottle.

Going through the baby department one day totally eagle eyed I was still looking for some new type of cup for my daughter to get her off the bottle. On the lowest possible shelf I see a whole bunch of individual cups. They were a brand call Nuby this cup was tall, multiples of colors, and WOW a soft spout. I was like a child in a candy store. I didn't even hesitate and I throw one in my shopping cart.

Once home I washed the cup and immediately tried to give my daughter something in it. Sure enough she took the cup without a problem and I was able to get rid of the bottles.

Since then I have never looked or even thought of trying any other type of training cup with my children, I used the Nuby with my second daughter(now 2) and now my son(now 11 months old), and they have all took to it really well and rather quick.

Now about this cup, This is a soft silicon spout, NO spill cup, and because it is a soft spout it is gentle on teeth and gums. It has a vari-flow valve so your child can control the flow, it is similar to the bottle nipple they actually have to suck to get anything out of it. when they stop sucking the flow of liquid also stops. It has a built in valve so no extra pieces just the top/lid and cup to wash, it's very easy to wash it has a wide opening to get cloth or brush into, both parts are dishwasher safe. The cup is clear break resistant plastic, and microwave safe for liquid only. It's got this great contour easy grip design for little hands. And it can be purchase in many colors, from pink, purple, blue, orange, yellow and maybe more those or the colors I remember.

If you are looking for an easy transition from bottle to cup I suggest you give the Nuby Soft Spout No spill cup a try, I think you will be impressed at how simple it can be.

When I was buying them for my daughter they were being sold individually at K-Mart. This time for my son I found a 2 pack at Giant Eagle.
