Non Drowsy Antihistamine By poshpost on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

Our pharmacist-neighbor recommended Zylohist to us as non-drowsy anti-histamine. Reportedly, it is non-steroidal. I tried it and I liked it. It remedied by allergic rhinitis and when I took it during daytime, it didn't make me drowsy unlike my other antihistamine.

Additionally, it can be taken with or without food, so anytime I get an attack, let's say because of the odors in a commuter transportation, or the dust in the mall, I can pop a pill immediately and get relief. Our friend recommended to leave the 10 mg pill in my mouth for some time until it is softened before I swallow it. I don't know why this is, but I searched online and it is true that Zylohist is to be taken that way.

The only downside that I probably see with this product is because it is more expensive that my regular tablet. I think about 20 cents more expensive. So what I do is, I take Zylohist during the day when I should not sleep because of work, and my other antihistamine at night when I need to sleep. That way, my sleeping cycle is not disrupted, along with my work, and I get to save some cents because of the cheaper brand that I use at night.

I badly need allergy medication from October to December of each year, when the direction of the winds change.
