I am a baking fool! We don't buy our bread anymore I just bake every week. One of the things I really appreciate is great quality kitchen/baking tools. If you are into baking, especially breads and pastries, a marble rolling pin is the greastest!

The Norpro 18 inch Marble Rolling Pin has wooden handles, weighs about 5lbs or so which makes it easier for rolling out dough's, especially bread dough (you don't have to use as much muscle, just slap it down and roll!) It also comes with a little wooden stand/holder that keeps it from rolling off the counter or where ever it is you choose to store it.

The marble doesn't absorb fats, oils, liquids or odors from what ever it is you are working with so it is also super easy to clean. You just give it a good wipe down and you're done.

Also, because the marble stays cools, I find that the dough doesn't stick. You can even refrigerate the rolling pin for 30 minutes before you are going to use it...especially helpful when doing pie crusts/pastry. I haven't even needed to do that with the bread dough, the marble is cool enough already.

These are built to lasy a life time. Seriously! Unless it falls off the counter and you break the wooden parts off! Yes..I broke my last one that way. My husbands Grandma had given me hers and she had had it for as long as anyone in the family could remember. wewere going to try and replace the wooden rod and handle but it got tossed when we moved.

I looked everywhere for another and couldn't find one in town here. I ended up getting mine from Ebay ( i do LOVE EBay!) brand new, still in the box for a really good price. I paid $14.99 and then $7.00 for shipping. The other sites I had found were charging 30 dollars PLUS shipping. I am not sure which stores would carry this, they are easy enough to find onlin. I would definitely recommend the Norpro Marble Rolling Pin! I am extremely happy with mine!
