I have owned a couple of Visioneer scanners, one being the Visioneer OneTouch 5800 USB Scanner. This scanner is a very simple flatbed scanner, making it fairly easy to scan documents and photographs. If you are looking for a top of the line high quality scanner, look elsewhere. If you are just looking to use a scanner for simple document and photo scanning, the OneTouch 5800 is not a bad deal. This particular model is an older model, so I wouldn't recommend spending a lot of money on it. I personally bought this model in used but excellent condition, and only paid $15 for it on eBay. Don't spend more than $25.
I've seen other people blast this scanner for design flaws, installation problems, and poor software. I can't say I agree with those reviews. My experience with this particular model has been just fine. Keep in mind, each person has a different set up, and with computers you will always have the possibility of hardware compatibility issues. Do some research first, then purchase. Overall, this scanner is a decent product if you don't spend a lot of money for it.

Wow! What a deal! This is a great option for those who don't need all the photo scanning products. This is great for simple tasks of scanning the documents.

$15 is really cheap for a scanner! If it does what you need it too, that is really all that matters. Some people feel like they always have to have the most expensive and the one with the most features even when they really do not need them "just in case."
