Not So Space Saving Bags By harleymomma on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
I needed to save some space for a cross country move, so I figured, why not try the ever popular space savings bags. Sounds like a novel idea, right? Well, they work well, until the next day. I can get a lot into the bags so the size isn't the issue. And, it works well with virtually any vacuum attachement to suck the air out of the bags. But, by a few hours later or next day, they are entirely inflated and I have had to suck the air back out of the bags. Very frustrating when you are trying to pack things and you have to go back repeatedly to flatten the bags. I checked for holes - none were present. Most now have a ziploc type of sealing, so that wasn't the issue either. It was a brand new package. Needless to say, I would not waste your money. I thought it would work great for our comforters and large, bulky clothing and stuff, but it was more of a headache than anything. So, even if you ARE NOT planning a cross country move, and you just want to maximize your space, I suggest you think of something else like storage under your bed, or building shelvers up or something along that route. BIG THUMBS DOWN! :(
