Not Too Impressed With This Toddler Game System By bellastella227 on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

My daughter received this learning game for her first birthday. I was excited to open it up and give it a try. By nature, I always carefully read instructions, and I found this system easy enough to install and connect with our DVD player.

This system involves a large remote control and then DVDs act as "games" for the toddler. We have only used the system in the "Baby Mode" so far. We have three DVD games to go with it.

Basically, the DVDs are fun, educational shows that allow your child to interact with the it. I do not feel the game system itself really has taught much other than cause & effect for my child. The DVDs are quality and entertaining, but all the child is ever prompted to do is push one of the three big buttons. They all do the same thing...the game basically pauses while it is waiting for the child to push the button and the buttons act to push "play" again.

The Toddle Mode and toddler games may be more exciting and educational, but I don't feel like I want to invest any more in this system. I expect the best from Leapfrog, and I have to admit I have been a little disappointed in this toy.
