Not Your Grandmother's Cocoa Mix By Tink on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
Do you remember how your grandmother used to make cocoa for you? Well I do and this is nothing like my grandmother's cocoa! This is a special type of chocolate syrup with a cinnamon flavor added. It is called Abuelita by Nestle. Abuelita means grandmother in Spanish. This is a drink that we serve in our Mexican Restaurant in Ohio.
Abuelita, Syrup de Chocolate, can be served hot or cold. It mixes easily with milk that is either hot or cold. I also love this syrup on top of vanilla ice cream. You would be surprised at the taste...it's nothing like that regular chocolate syrup! A hint of cinnamon is the secret ingredient. I sometimes make a shake with 3 scoops of vanilla ice cream, 1/4 cup of milk and 4 tablespoons of Abuelita syrup. Yummy !!!
It has only 100 calories per serving and no fat or cholesterol!
I bought this syrup at my local Mexican store, but you can find this at Walmart and Meijers stores too.
What are you waiting for? Go and get some now !!!

Sounds really good. I've never heard of this before. Thanks for sharing.
I've never heard of this before, but it sounds yummy as it's originally intended and even more so how you described it for other things. I'll have to look for this at Wal-Mart.
Sounds sooo yummy! I haven't seen it where I live do you know if it is available online?
I haven't seen this yet, but now I'll be on the lookout for it!
