When my husband and I bought our house 2 years ago it needed a little work. One of the things I hated about it was the lighting in the kitchen. My kitchen and dining area are one big room. There is a ceiling fan in the middle of the room that holds 3-60 watt light bulbs and a small light at each end of the room that holds 3-25 watt bulbs. Even with all the lights on it can still be very dim in most of the kitchen.
My mother-in-law wanted to buy us new lights for the kitchen for Christmas. We looked at several stores and found the one we liked at Lowes. These lights were only $34.88 each and she bought us one for each end of the room.
These lights by Portfolio measure 17.25 inches across, mount flush to the ceiling and measure about 12 inches from the ceiling to the lowest point on the light fixture. The fixture is made of steel with a bronze finish. The leaf design has a copper finish and the glass is an alabaster color.
This light fixture holds 3-60 watt bulbs and can use the new energy efficient bulbs if you choose. They were very easy to install. It took my husband about an hour to remove the old lights and install the new ones.
I can now see great in the kitchen or dining area whether it is day or night. The leaf design goes very well with our decor and we are very happy with our choice.
