Nvidia Ge Force Fx5200 By vnascone on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

The Nvidia Geforce FX5200 is no good. It just doesn't cut it for a computer now. I bought it two years ago for a build I was doing. It seemed to have decent specs, so I went for it.

This was no absolute mother-of-all-rigs build. It was just a computer for some light gaming. It ran fine for a while, but then, overnight, the card was obselete. It can play some current games, provided every graphical setting is on low, which will achieve a nausea inducing 15 frames per second. It has spotty DirectX9 support, so not all games will even function.

I have never seen a card become absolutely useless so soon after purchase. Especially now that there are far better cards out there, take a pass on the FX5200.
