This is a really great thing to have for new babies. It offers calming and soothing music, lights, and sounds for younger babies, as well as some fun interactive qualities for older babies. This really calmed my baby down at night, and when he got older he would even push the button himself, activating the swimming fish, lights, and music, and it would soothe him back to sleep without me even having to pick him up! It attaches easily to the side of the crib and it seems to hang on there pretty tightly - I'm not worried that it will fall off on him. Since it's not recommended to put stuffed animals in a crib, this is one of the few things that is safe to be "in" a crib. I think it's wonderful!
