Reviewing: Off! Deep Woods Towelettes
Purchased at: Target     Price: $12.00 USD

I have always been a fan of OFF! insect repellant's because I have had proven results when I have used them. I was very excited when I discovered OFF! Deep Woods Towelettes at Target. Off! Towelettes are individually wrapped cloths that are already treated with OFF! insect repellent.

Bugs are attracted to me big time. It never fails that I go somewhere not thinking about bugs and using repellent and then I get attacked. I now keep several packages of the OFF! towelettes in the glove box of my car and they are always available when I need them. I also pack them and take them with us when we go on vacation. They are much easier and lighter to carry around in your bags than having the liquid bottles in there that can leak. They are also easy to take and put in your beach bag or day pack to bring along when you go on tours.

The active ingredients in the towelettes are 25% DEET and 75% other ingredient. To use them you simply have to tear open the package, unfold the cloth and rub it over your exposed skin. They are moist enough that it only takes one to do an application on your entire body. They go on wet and dry quickly without leaving a greasy feeling behind. Like most insect repellents, the smell is not the greatest but it is a fair trade off not to get the bug bites. Unlike spray on insect repellent where your hands have limited contact with the poison, when you use the towelettes, your hands do have direct contact with it. Make sure to use extreme caution around your eyes and handling food until you are able to wash your hands.

Update On Feb 27, 2010: Ever since we had a nasty encounter with some biting flies on a Mexican beach, we always pack some insect repellant in our beach bags. These off towelettes work great because they take up very little space and there is nothing to spill or have leak.

I've used Off insect repellent many times, but have never tried the towelettes. They sound more convenient to carry in the car and for traveling....so, I'm going to try them.

I need to try these towelettes. Like you, I am a mosquito magnet. It would be great to have these towelettes handy.

I've never seen the towelettes. These would be great when hiking or camping, easy just to stash a couple in your pocket incase you need them.

I was wondering about the Off on your hands after you use them. Good advice to be careful when touching your face. I'll have to pick up some of these to take to Disney!

These are great because they are convenient to keep in your glove box or purse for those impromptu late nites outside.

I used Deep Woods Off in Kauai recently. It save me!! I'm the one in the family that the skeets like. I didn't know about the towelettes. How very handy to be able to just slide a couple of packages into a pocket or beach bag without worrying about bringing a whole can!
