I've worked for the same employer for 20 years, a few different offices, the last one for 10 years. I had this hard plastic chairmat for probably most of that time. I HATED it!! It moved everytime I moved my chair. Every morning I would come in, move my chair and shove that darn mat back in it's place! When my boss got herself this new mat that never seemed to go anywhere I finally piped up and asked if I could have one too.
The arrival of my new Rubbermaid Chairmat was almost as exciting as getting a promotion and greeted with much fanfare by myself!! I've had this chairmat for almost a year and it has not moved an inch, thanks to the gripper back, no matter how much I roll my chair back and forth to the filing cabinets behind me.
The mat is 46" wide by 60" long so it tucks nicely way under my desk (keeps the carpet clean from dirty shoes in the winter), all the way back to the end of my side credenza. It has a bevel track all the way around which makes it easier if you slide you chair back and forth over it. The color is crystal clear so that you can see the carpeting underneath.
I would highly recommend this chairmat for anyone who has one of those hard plastic ugly things that curl up with age!

oh my! I had one of those crappy old mats that would always curl up! I hated it. I don't need or have a use for a chair mat now, but I will keep this in mind if I even need one again.
I know exactly what you mean about your mat curling up!!
I've been looking into a chair mat for our computer desk at home. Sounds like a great one.
