Office Max Brand Shredder 20 Sheet By KLKwid on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

Well, it looks like I'll be writing about a lot of shredders because we can really go through them!!

I was happy with this shredder for a few months-it has a good capacity and it was very sharp. No jams at all for 3 months. That's pretty good! It's a cross cut type, so everything was destroyed completely and it had the capacity to shred credit cards and CDs. Overall a very good shredder. It was, however, very loud and a little slower than I would have liked. The capacity of the bin was larger than most shredders, but again, I would have liked to have more room for our shredded materials before I had to empty the bin again. It pretty much took everything we threw at it. We use it A LOT, though, and have at least 5-10 bins full every day (remember I work at a medical office, so we have tons of shredding to do to protect patient privacy). It finally went to shredder heaven yesterday after another large amount of shredding it had to do. The total time we had it before the motor burned out was approximately 2 months. I bought it at the end of December and it was burned out by the beginning of February.

Overall, this "heavy duty" shredder wasn't nade very well if the motor burned out so fast, but then again, we do expect a LOT from our shredders. I think it would be a very good addition to a home office or a small office where shredding is not a priority. I'll be writing a review of our next shredder in a few months after we've had time to test it out!!
