Old Faithful Toothbrush Oral B 40 By Sparkle333 on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

In a time when almost everyone is using electric toothbrushes, I guess I'm an old fashioned dinosaur. I still use the same brand, old manual standard toothbrush that I have used for years--Oral-B 40. Years and years ago, a dentist suggested this brand, and I have always been very satisfied with it. In fact, Oral-B has a slogan: The brand more dentists use themselves worldwide.

I prefer a medium bristle brush-not too soft, and not too hard. Oral-B is very gentle on the gums, and delicate mouth tissues. They say that this is due to the end rounded bristles.

One feature that was not offered years ago, is the Indicator bristles. A portion of the bristles in the center of the brush are colored blue, so that they stand out from the normal white bristles. When they fade halfway, it's a sign that it is time to replace your toothbrush. Dentists generally suggest replacing your toothbrush every 3 months.

Another new feature that has been added to the Oral-B 40 toothbrush, is the ergonomic handle. It's easy to grip and hold.

Lately, I've been purchasing the value pack that contains 2 toothbrushes. That way I always have a new one on hand, or one for traveling.

I like the indicator bristles on the new toothbrushes. Very handy. Thanks!
