Old ugly underperforming Holden Barina SB 97
By vwpsoftware onThe Holden Barina SB surfaced in 1997, advertised as "stylish" and as having "sophisticated styling, [and a] vibrant new design". Compared to today's new cars, the Barina is no comparison.
Sized at 3741 x 1608 x 1420mm, the SB Barina is considerably large. It incorporated a 1.4L, 4 cylinder engine at 60kW. This makes the performance almost shocking. Driving up a steep hill in North Rocks, Sydney, Australia, the Barina can only make it up at 40km/hr, while you watch other cars shooting past. It's almost like you're walking up that hill. Even worse, when you have the air-conditioning on... you would be able to guess what happens. Fuel economy is average, at 8.5L/100km in the city and 6.0L/100km on the highway.
Its appearance is hideous. The overuse of curves make the car appear primitive, while the interior fabrics have a very ugly pattern. The centre back seat does not come with a standard seatbelt, rather, one which only goes across your lap. This is considered as a safety issue. The car comes with only 2 airbags as standard; a driver's and front-seat passenger's.
Overall, the Holden Barina is an average car, but with its outdated style and performance as well as safety features, it can't compare to today's technological advancement.
