Olympus 10 X Zoom Digital Camera By Jan Mayrhofer on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
I've actually had my Olympus digital camera for a number of years already. And I know how technology progresses so quickly, but I am still perfectly happy with this camera. I've taken thousands of pictures with it, and it still just keeps on performing!
The Olympus C-770 Ultra Zoom is a 4.0 megapixel, 10X optical zoom, SLR model that uses a rechargeable lithium battery and an XD Memory Card. The lithium rechargeable battery is fantastic! I've been using the same battery for years (at least three or four – I can't quite remember) with no problems whatsoever. Obviously, I'll never go back to the old fashioned alkaline or even nickel batteries again. I used NIMH rechargeable batteries with my last camera, an Olympus D model, but those batteries would get sucked dry in no time. It got very frustrating.
I know this camera wasn't cheap, but I can't remember how much it was. I think it was somewhere between $250.00 and $350.00 at the time as it was a newer model. Now that it is an older model, a person could pick one up for a song, I'm sure.
If you'd like a nice digi-cam for a great price, and you need pictures mostly for internet use, this would not be a bad choice at all.
You could use it for print photos, but these days you can get better resolution for more professional looking prints. I often take my memory card to a Kodak Kiosk at Safeway to have any hard copies I need printed. They come out just lovely.
I am a happy Olympus digi-cam owner and recommend the C-770 as a dependable workhorse of a camera.

I love Olympus cameras. My father had one that he used in the early 50's of a trip to Hawaii and the shots were glorious. I want one of these and hope to snag a bargain on one of them soon.
I've been looking at an Olympus for my next camera. I'm glad to hear the perform well over time. I can't wait to get one now that I've seen your images!
