One Touch Jar Opener By balentine2 on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
I have arthritis in my hands and have a hard time opening some jars. My mother-in-law saw this One Touch jar opener and thought it would help me.
All in all, this jar opener works fairly well. It is very good at opening wide mouth jars like spaghetti sauce or pickles. You just place it on top of the jar lid, center it, and press the button. It has two sets of arms that come inward to open the jar. The bottom set holds the opener to the jar. The top set twists the lid. It usually opens the jar with one twist but on some stubborn jars I have had to do the cycle twice.
It doesn't do as well on smaller lids. It is supposed to open jars with lids 1 in. to 4 in. wide. On the smaller lids, this opener has a hard time getting a good enough grip to open the jar.
It is very easy to clean, just wipe off with a damp rag. It runs on 2 AA batteries. I have had this jar opener for about 5 months and have not had to change the batteries yet.
So if you need help opening jars give this opener a try. Just don't use it on small lids.
