One Touch To Throw In The Trash!
By Sparkle333 onWhen I saw this product on TV, I really wanted to believe what they said. You know, "The Last Can Opener You Will Ever Buy." Unfortunately, it is the last OneTouch Can Opener that I will ever buy! (Sadly, I bought two, thinking that it was such a neat gadget.)
Well, you're supposed to put the opener on the can, press the button, and watch it do its thing. That worked...a few times. After that, the darn thing started getting stuck on the can, and nothing I could do would release it!!! Thinking that it was just a faulty can opener, I got out the other one that I had purchased, at the same time. I smiled happily as it circled the can, and worked like a jewel...a few times. Once again, after a few days, it was sticking, and stopping, and I was having to do gymnastics to get it off the lid.
Finally, after this scenario repeated itself over and over, I had to throw away my can of beans and the OneTouch Can Opener. I had all the fun I could muster (and way too much aggravation.) I think it was a good concept, but they need to go back to the drawing board on this one. They got one thing right though. It will be the last OneTouch can opener that I'll ever buy!

I've had the same experience! I usually end up holding the button down as the gadget slowly goes around the can, but I almost always have to give it some nudges to help it along. It definitely only worked well the first few times I used it. I've even changed the batteries, and that didn't help.
These are just a gimmick. The plastic gears wear down(inside) and it jams. Grease made it worse.
Awww... how awful that this does not work as advertised! We were thinking of getting one of these for a family member with arthritis... Thanks for the heads up on this one!
Sorry about the product not workng as advertised, nothing more annoying. Thanks for the warning.
