Purchased at: Walgreens     Price: $84.99 USD

I was diagnosed in 2005 with Type 2 Diabetes just two days after my 27th birthday. I still remember that day just like it was yesterday. With diabetes running very strongly in my family, I knew I had to take immediate action to take the best possible care of my health if I wanted to live a long, healthy life. Anyone with diabetes knows that this disease is not always easy to live with. It can be a day-to-day struggle trying to control your blood sugars.

After trying several different glucose meters, I came across the OneTouch UltraSmart Meter. This is by far the best meter I have seen on the market! It amazes me how much information this little glucose meter can store. My favorite features on the OneTouch UltraSmart meter are the Excerise SmartButton, the Health SmartButton, the Medication SmartButton, the Food SmartButton, and the FastFacts SmartButton. And the best part . . . there is no need to write down your blood sugars anymore with this meter!

The Exercise SmartButton allows you to enter the amount of exercise (duration) and level of exercise (mild, moderate, or hard). You can comment whether the test result was obtained before, during, or after the exercise.

My absolute favorite feature is the Health SmartButton. This button allows you to enter all sorts of health information, such as doctor visits (dates), ketones, A1C, microalbumin, cholesterol, blood pressure, eye exams (dates), foot exams (dates), as well as your weight and height. I use this to keep track of all of my bloodwork. After several doctor visits, the OneTouch UltraSmart will compile all of the results and put it in a graph for you so you can visually see your progress.

Then there is the Medication SmartButton which you can enter your diabetes pills, insulin types and dosages, and even insulin pump information.

If you are keeping track of carbs and calories, you'll love the Food SmartButton. You can enter food information, including alcohol intake, carbs, fats, proteins, and calories. By doing this, you can view your average daily intake of these categories over a weeks time, all the way up to 3 months. A great way to keep yourself on track, since we know how hard that can be.

Last but not least is the FastFacts SmartButton. This is where you can view and edit your records, and you are able to access 12 kinds of reports so you can review your results, averages, and health information.

Don't underestimate the technology this wonderful meter can provide for you! No more writing down your blood sugars . . . and no more trying to keep track of all of your bloodwork results and health information. It's all here for you with just a touch of a button! Try the OneTouch UltraSmart meter today. You will not be disappointed. It has made my life as a diabetic a whole lot easier . . . even my doctor is impressed!
