Well, I have been a diabetic for 40 years.. and am now using a pump. My pump (Minimed) now has a new meter that talks to it, remotely.. and its made by OneTouch.

I thought, ok, well, if i have to get new strips for the OneTouch, I will get a couple Utramini's for my car, work, or gym bag. I ordered some cool colored ones, they have all kinds of colors, I thought how fun!

Now, these dont talk to my pump.. but they use the same strips as the larger meter that came from Minimed.

I gotta say these have been a hassle... First they require quite a bit of blood.. so if you dont get a good first stick in your finger or arm... the strip wont be full, and will Error out.

This seems to happen a lot.

Second, even if you have enough blood... but maybe miss the end, and it doesnt get sucked in all at the same time, it will error out...

So, if you are in a car, dark area, trying to be fast, you might error the meter... and waste strips...

This meter tells you it uses the smallest blood sample, but I know there are others out there that do use less.(I used to use an Accucheck, and that model did use less...)

Pro's:

Small, portable, cheap

Con's :

Possible errors with blood samples lead to wasted strips

I have this little meter in pink, I really like it, so far no problems!
