Onimusha: Dawn Of Dreams By Shawn on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams is the first step in a new direction for the Onimusha series by lightening up on the controls and introducing an almost completely new cast to gamers. While the game's controls and combat aren't as lucid as its contemporaries in God of War and Devil May Cry, it's still pretty entertaining from almost every angle.

Luckily, the story wasn't an off point in the game and amidst upgrading and crafting new weapons from items you find, you'll find yourself pretty engaged in the surprisingly deep story. There's a two player mode once you have more than one character, but it's clear that not much time was put into it. There are camera issues and gameplay mechanics that will have the second player switching characters constantly to deal with puzzles later in the game.

Overall, Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams is a satisfying action adventure which in the end will leave you satisfied and for some, leaving you wanting a bit more.
