Optimus Fuel Bottle By Ben Whynot on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

After receiving the Primus Gravity MF stove for christmas I had to go out and buy a liquid fuel bottle. After many days and weeks of looking near and far with no luck finding a Primus fuel bottle to match the brand names I decided enough was enough. I went out and bought this 400ml Optimus fuel bottle, and to my personal tastes it was just what I needed. Bright green makes it ever so easy to find in the bottom of a hiking pack, or at night with a flashlight. The bottle itself comes in three capacities, 400ml, 600ml and the big 1000ml. From my personal experiences the small bottle is enough fuel if you are going on a weekend hike and don't plan on cooking any gourmet meals. I would recommend using a clean burning brand name fuel as opposed to kerosene or regular gasoline. Mind you the bottle can be used with any fuel you want to put in it (as long as the stove will burn it properly). The bottle is made of a very light weight aluminum and coated inside to keep the fuel from damaging it. Although the bottles come in the sizes I mentionned above; the max fill lines in the bottles are less than the actual capacity. In the 400ml the max fill line is at 250ml. I don't have anything to say about these fuel bottles so far, I am very pleased with mine and i'm sure you would be too.
