Oral B Toothbrush 5 Years Old Going Strong By Eggy on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

I bought my Oral-B Professional Care electric toothbrush on the recommendation of my dentist. It has resulted in better check-ups and makes brushing more fun.

It does not take up very much counter space in the bathroom, and the base is easy to keep clean and holds up to four brush heads when not in use. The life of the brushes is very good, although they don't seem overly firm, they last for a very long time.

It holds a charge very well. I only leave it plugged in part of the time. It has a brushing timer which indicates every 30 second increment - this tells you how much time to spend in each quadrant of your mouth (upper/lower right/left). Unlike its major competitor, it does not turn the brush off after two minutes - I am glad about this because sometimes I might want to finish a newspaper article before I stop brushing.

My only complaint is that a blue light flashes when it is charging. This light casts an eerie glow from my bathroom into my bedroom (this is why I don't leave it plugged in all the time).

I have and my Oral-B Professional Care (powered by Braun) electric toothbrush for five years, and it is still going strong.
