Our Doggie Needs An Orthopedic Bed Too!! By Alice on - Updated Sep 18, 2011
We have a 16 year old female Austrailian Shepherd named Sasha, who is according to her last physical still going strong but showing signs of old age, like me! We now both take glucosamine for our arthritis so I know she needs a firm yet comfortable bed to sleep on.
While on my regular Saturday trip to Costco a few weeks ago I spotted this huge colorful square of material with paw prints all over it. When I went to check out the label is said it was an orthopedic pet bed. I knew I had to get it as the one we had now had a cover that no longer fit after it had been in the wash a few times.
This bed also has a removable cover so it can be cleaned and the fabric is treated to repel water. It can be machine washed in cold water on the gentle cycle and tumble dried on low heat. The interior is made of extra dense orthopedic foam with the little egg like indentations for joint support.
Sasha took a shining to her new bed right away as I took the picture 5 minutes after I laid her bed on the floor for her. Now we can both get a good nights sleep!
Kirkland 36" X 40" Orthopedic Pet Bed Purchased at: Costco Price: $23.49

My kids both have dogs and they sleep on something similar to this. It's important for the dogs to have a comfy bed too. Glad you both are getting a good night's sleep now.
This sounds like a wonderful doggie bed. Thanks for the information.
Waht a great way to reward your loyal companion! Her own bed that helps her sleep with more comfort.
What a cutie your dog is :)
Awww Sasha is beautiful! I can see why you spoil her so, she looks like a very wonderful friend and companion. :) Great review!
