Oxo Good Grips Apple Corer Divider By msjoelboxer on - Updated Sep 18, 2011

In the autumn, I love to sample the delicious harvests of the many apple orchards scattered through Massachusetts.

But as much as I love making pie and applesauce, coring and cutting all of those apples can be a real pain. I saw this little gadget at my local Marshalls and decided to give it a try. What a time saver!

The stainless steel blades slide easily through tougher skinned fruits, evenly coring and slicing them every time. The handles are made of nonslip rubber and are slightly raised, helping to keep your hands away from the sharp blades.

I found this tool really easy to use, but be careful! I noticed that after cutting a couple of apples, the moisture starts to make it slip a bit, so make sure you always cut on a flat, sturdy surface. You can have enough apples for a pie ready in about 7 minutes with this handy gadget.
