I don't think everyone has a set of tongs in their kitchen, but I use mine for so many things, I don't know how I would ever be able to function in my kitchen without them! I use them to turn meat as it is cooking, to toss salads, to squeeze out teabags when I make a cup or a pot of tea, putting food on and taking it off the grill both indoors and out, and to get meat or vegetables out of boiling water.

The OXO Good Grips are made of a brushed stainless steel, and are very durable. The handles lock so that the tongs can be easily stored. They have a great rubber handle that is so easy on the hands! They grip well... I have never dropped any food while using these tongs. They are made of stainless steel, so they are dishwasher safe. As far as I am concerned, tongs are an absolutely essential kitchen tool!
