Packing Cubes By vsimeone on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

I started a new job just about a year ago. It involves a small bit of travel: about six two night trips per year. I have been averaging a two or three night trip every other month or so. Combine that with two "family" trips and I have traveled about 22 nights since the first of the year.

I hate paying the luggage fees with the airlines and I hate, even worse, letting my "stuff" out of my sight to be checking into the luggage compartment of a plane so at almost any cost, I pack a "carry-on" only.

After frequenting some of the travel and budget boards on the Internet, I began to see people touting the benefits of this product called "packing cubes." I purchased a set of three from eBags. I got one each of the small, medium and large. These truly are a miracle product. You pack your clothes in the cubes and then into your suitcase. Nothing gets wrinkled and everything fits in a really small space!

I usually pack my jeans and large items in the large size. Shirts go in the medium and lingerie in the small. Everything packs so tight that, to my husband's shock, I packed for a 9 day trip to England in one carry-on bag!

If you do any kind of traveling, I highly recommend considering a set of "packing cubes."
