Pain Of Whitestrips By perfectdeception on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
Nowadays, people are using whitening products to whiten their teeth without having to go to the dentist. I figured I should give it a try, so I bought the Crest Whitestrips. It says to use twice a day thirty minutes each. At first, I thought it would be easy and painless, but that turned out wrong. You have to apply thin strips of whitening solution on your teeth. The strips are very sticky and slippery so it's hard to get a good grip on them without smearing chemicals on your fingers. Then you have to place it on your teeth. The strips are not big enough to cover up a row of teeth. It can only cover the front, so your inside is not getting whitened. After applying the strips on both rows of teeth, you have to leave it on for half an hour. I was afraid to swallow any toxic chemicals so I barely swallowed my saliva. The smell builds up in my mouth. After the first time, my teeth felt raw for days. I could barely eat anything since the pain was so potent. After a while, the pain go a way. When I finished using the strips, I noticed my teeth was whiter. Thank goodness all that pain payed off. However, my teeth did not stay white long. In a couple of months, the whiteness faded away. Despite the pain and suffering, I will continue to use the strips because it is convenient.

I'm lucky that my teeth great with these strips but, I know how you feel about sitting there not able to swallow for a half hour.
I have always heard that tooth whitening can make your teeth sensitive sometimes.
