At first, I thought this batter bowl was nothing special. Why spend money on a bowl specifically to mix & batter in when any other bowl can be used for that? However, I was wrong. Pampered Chef Classic Batter Bowl has proved to be quite an asset.

This clear glass bowl holds up to 8 cups of liquids, so I don't have to worry about spilling all over when I mix something in it. It has a pouring spout - excellent for pancakes: I don't even need a spoon, I can just pour out portions of liquid dough onto the frying pan. The bowl has measurements markings, both standard and metric. It can be used for baking, too: the directions say that it is heat safe up to 350 degrees. I have never baked in mine though, but I have used it for reheating.

The bowl is quite heavy, so when it is full it can be a little difficult to move around. Fortunately, it has a convenient large handle, easy to hold on to; and when I need extra help holding it, I just support it with my other hand underneath. The bowl comes with a nicely fitting plastic lid that works great when I need to store something like cookie dough. Cleaning is not a problem, warm soapy water and a sponge quickly make the bowl sparkling clean; it is also dishwasher safe.
