This stainless steel tool works great, quickly slicing an apple into 10 neat wedges and removing the center with seeds. It is easy to use: the round wedger with two handles on the sides is placed on the apple, centered, pressed down - and your apple is done. I use it extensively when I make apple pies, preserves, or any other dish that requires cut and cored apples: it saves tons of time. Its only disadvantage is that in order to be nicely cut, the apple needs to be of a nearly perfect shape. For that reason, it does not work very well on my home-grown apples as they are not so perfectly shaped as those purchased at a store. Of course, there is also a size limit: very large apples that will not fit through the wedger cannot be sliced. Despite this small disadvantages, I still love this handy tool and recommend it to those who cook apples a lot.
