I love roasted chicken and was looking for a way to make tender, juicy chicken at home.I have baked a few chickens in this and have had great results each time. The biggest chicken I've fit in this is about 8 pounds, with the cover on.Pampered Chef advertises you can use this in the microwave and cook a chicken in 30 minutes.I am not able to try this because my microwave is too small. This deep dish baker is part of Pampered Chef's stoneware line. The outside is glazed, but the inside is unfinished stoneware. That means you can not use soap to clean it or it will ruin the seasoning and may make your food taste soapy. Some foods have required soaking to clean it, but I think you'd have to do that whether you used soap or not.I really like this baker but I do have one big problem with it... storage. The baker can be tall with the lid on, and there's no way to store the lid inside the baker.I recommend this product for anyone who likes to roast chickens, ribs, or other small meats at home.

I love roasted chicken too and have used stoneware oans to cook it before. They give the skin a great crispy crust while the meat stays nice and juicy. I just can not imagine cooking a chicken in the microwave coming out the same way. I wish you had been able to tell us about that too, I'm really curious if it actually works. But it's great to know you can use it either way.

The microwave chicken comes out AWESOME. Put some rosemary and garlic inside the chicken and brush the outside with olive oil, and cook for 30 minutes. Super duper tender and juicy. If you want it to have a crisp "curst", put it in the oven for a few minutes to finish.
