I used to avoid baking recipes that included so many egg yolks or egg whites, because it meant having to separate whites from yolks, which can be messy and annoying. Even though I had become pretty good at doing it manually, I still did not look forward to dirtying several cups and having sticky fingers. Pampered Chef Egg Separator solves the problem very nicely. This simple stainless steel device gets attached to the mixing bowl, leaving your both hands free. You just crack the egg over the scoop-shaped part, and the yolk will stay in it while the whites will seep through the coiled wire-like scoop. Easy and convenient!

Since it is made of stainless steel, the egg separator does not rust. It is dishwasher safe, so cleaning is not a problem. The only disadvantage is that the holding hooks will only fit mixing bowls of a certain size; those with wider rims won't do. However, this is not an issue as soon as you've found one or two that you know you can use this tool with.
