Purchased at: Wal Mart     Price: $89.99 USD

The initial reason I went shopping for a new telephone was because I was wanting a phone in my bedroom. I had called my telephone company to see about having another jack installed. The price was going to be $130.00. I had not purchased a new phone in awhile so I decided to purchase a phone with an extra handset. This way I can still have a phone in my bedroom without paying a fee for the installation of a jack. The extra handset can be plugged into an outlet in any room of your home.

When I went shopping at Wal-Mart for a new phone, what first made the Panasonic Cordless Phone stand out for me was the feature of having a talking caller ID. When the phone rings, it will announce who is calling by reading the caller ID. This is convenient because you will know who is calling before going to the phone. If you are sitting down and someone calls who you don't want to speak with, then you don't have to get up. If you program a number into your phone, you can actually type in any name you want. For instance, if you've had an argument with a boyfriend/girlfriend, anytime they call you can program it to say "Call from That Loser" etc. and yes I have done this before. It is childish but funny. Of course this feature can only be used if you have the caller ID service with your telephone company. The answering machine can store up to 64 messages. It also comes with one extra handset. Although I have not used this feature, it has what is called Slow Talk. You can slow down the voice of the person you are talking to. It also has a Ringer ID which can help you identify who is calling by using different ringers for different callers who are stored in the phonebook.
