Paramount's Carowinds Theme Park By Tamika Logan on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

We decided to go to Carowinds as a summer treat for our children. We had seen the commercials and thought visiting Carowinds would be an inexpensive option to driving 6 hours to Busch Gardens.

I'm sad to report that our initial excitement was extremely short lived. It actually wore off before we even stepped foot inside the park entrance gate.

We were very disappointed in the park atmosphere, rides, and accommodations. While there were many rides to choose from ,none compared to the thrill rides of a Busch Gardens or even Great America.

I found the restaurants drab and uninteresting. The only featured show was short and not very well performed. The park was also littered with trash and unaccompanied children.

I am not proposing a boycott of Carowinds. Just be sure you know where you're going before you spend money on any ticket upgrades!
