Patriot 8 Gb Sdhc Card By Baseline on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

Ah, SDHC cards, also known as SD 2.0. I'm lucky enough to have a digital camera that recognizes these ever-growing in capacity cards. This one, the 8GB SDHC card by Patriot, is pretty similar to other vendors offerings, in that it is a Class 6 card, which means it will transfer at a decent speed. Some have complained though, that these SDHC cards do not transfer anywhere near as fast as regular SD cards. This is true, and it's unfortunate considering they are higher capacity. You would think that SD 2.0 would not only boast a higher capacity, but a higher transfer rate to compliment all of that data. But, I can't complain. 8GB is an awful lot of pictures, or even video, for this postage-stamp sized card.

And how about the price? Excellent in my opinion. If you shop around on some of the more well-known e-tailers, this card can be had for under $60 shipped, and the price appears to still be dropping due to competition. Great for us consumers! I must admit I do have my eye on those 16GB SDHC cards, but, they are still quite up there in price. Maybe there will be some good after christmas sales to capitalize on one :)
