Paul Newman Organic Peanut Butter Dog Biscuits By mustangsally82 on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
Like most dog owners, I'm always looking for good treats to strengthen the bond with my dog and reward her for good behavior. I always peruse the shelves at PetSmart looking for somewhat healthy treats that won't break the bank.
I picked up a 13 oz. bag of medium-sized peanut butter dog treats by Paul Newman. I always try to buy Newman's Own products whenever it's a reasonable option because they usually give some proceeds to charities. Some of Newman's products are Organic, including these dog treats.
Here's the ingredient list: Certified Organic Barley Flour, Natural Peanut Butter, Certified Organic Carrots, Certified Organic Apples, Ground Chicken, Chicken Fat, Natural Peanut Flour, Rolled Oats, Rosemary Extract.

I don't usually buy organic foods because they are expensive. However, I picked up this bag without hesitation as soon as I saw it because I know that the company donates money to pet charities. The biscuits are heart-shaped and have a texture and color similar to your regular run-of-the-mill Milk-Bone. They are about the size of a silver dollar in diameter, and my dog loves them. If that wasn't amazing enough, I'm still on my first bag that I bought nearly two months ago! It still contains at least 30 biscuits, and I usually give my dog one or two of these a day.
I love feeling like I'm not feeding my dog garbage, and I have to say that most commercially-available dog treats leave a lot to be desired. And you can't beat the value: I paid $5 for this bag and it's lasted me nearly two months already. With these treats I'm able to reward my dog several times a day and have the peace of mind of knowing that the ingredients are organic and natural.
