I loved Go Dog Go! by P.D. Eastman so we tried one his other books "Are You My Mother?".This is a fun book that has a newly hatched baby bird as its lead character that is searching for its mother.As the baby bird comes across different animals, the reader is given a perfect opportunity to make the animal noises e.g. MOoooooo for the cow.Needless to say this book gets a lot of giggling from all reading participants.
I didn't enjoy it as much as Go Dog Go! but that was on an amazing level.This one is well above average.I'm sure your little reader (4 - 8 years old) will love this too.Make sure to buy the hard cover edition, as it is sure to get its spot in the rotation.

My oldest son, now 15 really enjoyed this book when he was younger. I still have yet to introduce this one to my 2 & 3 year olds, thanks for sharing.
This was a cute book, I read it to my children when they were little and they did enjoy the silliness of the story!
I loved this book as a kid ( but like you, not as much as Go, Dog, Go) and I still have a copy.
Our boys loved this book! The laughs we shared over their first attempts to mimic animal sounds will be part of me forever.
What a classic! Such a crisis for the little bird, and then finally.... Mother! Thanks for the memories.
When my son was around 2 years old, Are you my mother was one book he always wanted me to read before he went to bed. He loved the book and just by reading it to him almost every night, he started to be able to recognized some words.
