Peaceful Warrior By Omdalf on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

I watched Peaceful Warrior three times in two days. Movies I really like where I appreciate the story and want to dig deeper, I tend to watch several times in just a few days.

It's about dreams, reaching for those dreams, worthwhile dreams are not "a piece of cake," having a mentor, that mentor helping you see yourself differently, many times your close "friends" will not understand your passions and dreams, the importance of living and loving each moment. I know, many of these themes have been in other movies. However, much depends on how the story played out in real life and how it is written. Of course, another factor is how well you can identify with the story. And to be honest my love the for rings in gymnastics caught my attention immediately.

However, what held my attention was the emphasis on what is missing so much in today's rat race, mentors who are willing to serve others without expecting being noticed or looking for "rewards."

I should give a warning to those who sometimes miss the big picture in a movie because of something they may disagree with. Watch it and see what you think.

And here are a few of my favorite lines from the movie: "Take out the trash in your mind." "There are no ordinary moments." "It's the journey, not the destination." "The warrior never gives up what he loves."
