The ink flows out smoothly and at any angle. It is about six inches in length and a comfortable thickness. You can get them in blue, black, and red ink. The cap has a built in eraser which comes in handy when doing those different types of puzzles. My son likes to use them for his schoolwork as he can erase mistakes or when editing papers. The ink is darker than an ordinary pencil therefore your answers are mor visible and you can erase mistakes. You cannot refill them. I find it easy to hold this pen and use therefore my hand does not tire out easily. I have encountered a few problems that are leaking of the ink, smudges, or they just do not write. The last time I used an erasable pen, it wouldn't write on a spot that had been previously erased - I wonder if this is still the case?
