Pentel: One Smooth Write By JayZ on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
There are a lot of writing utensils out there, and they all basically perform the same function- mark on paper. Still, even in such a small niche, there are those pencils that simply perform better than others. The Pentel E-Sharp happens to be one of the better pencils I've gripped between my fingers. It uses standard 0.7 lead- thin enough to make delicate marks and hard enough to not snap. In fact, I've used the same strip of lead for weeks without it breaking or having to be replaced. In addition, the E-Sharp has a grip that is more or less the perfect size; it does not protrude excessively and it doesn't compress to a point of discomfort. The downside to this pencil, however, lies in its eraser. The thing is puny. After about a week or two of essay writing, my eraser is worn to oblivion. All in all, the E-Sharp is great, if you tend to not make mistakes.
