Pepcid Complete Dual Action Cool Mint By DealHippo on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

Pepcid Complete promises to be an acid reducer plus antacid in one pill, so it's like taking a regular Pepcid and a Tums in one dose. I was excited to give this new product a try because I get heartburn fairly often from eating spicy foods. The last time I ate buffalo wings, I took one of these Pepcids as soon as I got heartburn. The directions say to chew up the tablet, so I did. It tasted like minty chalk. The taste wasn't unbearable but it wasn't pleasant either. After chewing and swallowing the tablet, my heartburn was relieved within 5 minutes, and did not come back. The Pepcid worked great, but my only concern is with the cost. In my opinion, it did not work any faster than Tums, but it did do a good job at keeping the heartburn from coming back, unlike Tums when sometimes I need to keep taking them. Overall, I would recommend Pepcid Complete for severe heartburn, but for mild to moderate heartburn I would save my money and stick with a cheap antacid like Tums.
