My dog is a Maltese/Bichon Frise mix (Maltichon), and that breed is one in which their coat is constantly growing. I didn't realize this when I bought him, and the professional groomer's bills were quite a shock. They can run anywhere from $30 on up, and I was told my little guy needed to be groomed every month! It's just a matter of choosing the right guide. The worst that can happen is that you take off a little too much here and there - but believe me - your dog won't complain!
